Who we are
4S Aachen GmbH was founded in 2020 with the goal of developing and making available innovative, resource-efficient technologies for sustainable plant cultivation. Our work focuses on automated systems for indoor growing, with a particular emphasis on modular design, environmental compatibility, and digitalization.

Technological Expertise
Our patented sensor- and image-based control system for lighting, irrigation, and growth processes enables exceptionally efficient use of limited space and resources—regardless of external weather conditions. It has been backed by numerous funding programs and successfully patented under both a European and a German IP right.

Location and Structure
Headquartered in Aachen, the company currently operates as a technology-driven IP firm. Our operational focus is on licensing and strategic partnerships.

The founder
Dr. Florian Köhler holds a PhD in Physics from RWTH Aachen, an MBA, and is a certified automotive and innovation consultant. Through 4S Aachen GmbH, he aims to translate deep technological expertise into scalable, sustainable applications.
